O Mole Mio - Restaurant Bar
Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, México
|
Elegant, artistic, and
romantic are the words that best
describe this unique restaurant. The two-story-high
interior walls are adorned fantasy Mexican
decor. Note the spectacular stained glass,
wood, and iron circular stairway designed by
Guadalajara artist Ernesto Cruise that to
the second-floor dining area.

For starters, don’t pass up the tortilla
soup. It’s prepared in a rich, picante
tomato broth, then topped with cheese,
avocado, and sour cream. The seafood
cocktails come loaded with Baja’s freshest
fish, succulent prawns, and scallops in
their own campechana sauce.
The house specialty is the homemade
Oaxacan mole sauce.
Dozens of ingredients are combined
and cooked for 24 hours to create this dark,
rich traditional chocolate-spiced salsa.
Enjoy it on enchiladas, grilled chicken
breast, and tamales.
The Buccaneer fish encrusted in mild
chile and served with an exotic salsa of
mango and papaya recalls the Caribbean. From
the Gulf of México comes the Medallones
Chipochamp dish, succulent beef medallions
bathed in their own salsa of chipotle and
mushrooms accompanied with Cajun potatoes
and beans. Finish a perfect meal with the
classic strawberry cheesecake or flan.
Prices range from $7 U.S. for the
Que Tamale (chicken wrapped in banana leaf)
to the $35 U.S. lobster dinner. There’s a
full bar, and delicious cold margaritas are
a specialty. Plaza del Sol, Boulevard
Marina, Cabo San Lucas, (624) 143-7577.
